e-mails are sent - 14 days prior to removal, 7 days prior and 3 days prior. A final e-mail is sent if
the module is actually removed. These e-mails provide a link for updating the registered course.

Our hosting company "upgraded" their servers and we were moved to new hardware, a slightly different operating
system, a significantly altered web server environment, and a new IP address. Thanks to an alert user
we were informed that the site was not working on Thu 12/18. By the afternoon of 12/20, we had
most things working again, although completion scores are not being sent. We are still working on that problem.

A long standing bug in the course score sender was found and fixed.
Courses in which students had x days to complete the course were not
having their scores sent after x days. They would only be sent when
the student completed all 7 modules.

Programming changed to disallow registering without choosing a Personal-ID and password
because this caused problems. Also modified the 2nd page of the registration form
(demographic questions form) to make it clearer that you need to click the button
to complete registration even if you don't want to answer the questions. This has also
been a source of problems. Also improved the weekly cleanup program to help with these
matters. Ran the cleanup program manually to, well, cleanup.

Sometime during this week the site was moved to a new server.

of doing any more than displaying pages for a few days.

We have added support for teachers
and instructors who want to assign Breastfeeding Basics as
an exercise for their students and receive their student's
evaluation scores by E-mail
(see the new menu on the Register page).
And, evaluation scoring has been corrected to eliminate those
discouraging -1's for selecting wrong answers. Now you get
a point for each correct answer, whether actively selected or not.

- A gallery of small photos of breastfed children has been started.
These are selected at random to appear on roughly 20% of the pages
of Breastfeeding Basics. If you want to contribute a photo, please contact
the site maintainer.

- The registration process has been improved to support the
use of shared computers and accounts (eg: library computers),
and to support visitors that may want to access their "accounts"
on this site from different computers, including their own
private computer and shared computers.
This support is implemented by new "log in" and "log out" procedures
that allow a visitor to regain access to their account by entering
a Personal ID and a password that are specified upon registration.
This change is compatible with existing accounts on private
(non-shared) computers. If you registered prior to January 23, 1999
and were not asked for a password then don't log out!.
If you want to add a Personal ID and password to your account,
simply click on the
Register
button. By adding a Personal ID and password you can now access
your existing account from other computers simply by logging on.
It also becomes safe to log out - you can log back in using your
Personal ID and password.
Notice the new Status: line that now appears just below the
navigation bar on every page.
This tells you whether you are logged in or not.
