In one report, a woman in her eighth month of pregnancy ingested Phencyclidine. Due to underlying psychosis and bizarre behavior, (probably partially related to PCP ingestion), she was hospitalized for the remainder of her pregnancy. At delivery (36 days after hospitalization), she had PCP in her amniotic fluid. With the onset of milk production 5 days after delivery, analysis of the breast milk revealed the presence of PCP. The infant was never breastfed ( Memorize Kaufman, 1983 ).
